Sustainability at the foundation
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. At first, we avoid open burning by sourcing these residues. Besides that, EP Biomass works exclusively with suppliers who operate responsibly and deliver biomass derived from natural byproducts and residues. We avoid deforestation, land-use change and primary wood sources.
Our supply chain is built on four principles:
Residues as feedstock
We work only with biomass residues from agriculture, agro-processing and natural by-product streams. These materials are utilised only after the primary food or agricultural production chain has been completed.
Local impact
Our supply-chain partners are mainly located in Southeast Asia and Africa, where the structured processing of residues contributes to local employment and significantly reduces open burning.
Transparency & certification
Our supply chains are organised in line with the principles of leading international sustainability schemes and meet strict requirements for quality and origin. We work exclusively with suppliers who can demonstrate that their processes are aligned with European standards for sustainable biomass.
Innovation & new applications
We support a wide range of initiatives in the energy, industrial and agricultural sectors. By connecting new applications with existing biomass residues, we create additional value in chains that were previously underutilised.
